What are upwelling systems?

They are high-resistance multipurpose discs that are installed at different depths. Their system is based on the drag movement of large masses of water.

Upwelling consists of the injection of air from a certain depth with the objective of generating high water renewal rates, at a maximum air flow rate and transferring oxygen at low air flow rates.

PSP Chile's upwelling systems are the most efficient on the market in terms of water column renewal capacity, displaced volumes and oxygen transfer to the environment.

Benefits:

  • High volume of water movement
  • High resistance to impacts and corrosion
  • Handling and storage facilities.
  • Easy maintenance
  • Quick installation
  • Multipurpose

Increases dissolved oxygen levels

Shake, mix and renew the water column

Aerates, oxidizes and transfers oxygen

Decreases currents by up to 151°

Decreases photosynthetic activity by up to 61%

Regenerates the seabed

Regulates the temperature

Reduction of phytoplankton concentration up to 34%
